今むかふ方はあかしの浦ながら  
    まだはれやらぬ我が思ひかな



Ima mukō kata wa akashi no ura nagara
    mada hare yaranu waga omoi kana  





Though the place where
I am going now is     
the coast of Akashi   
My mind has not       
yet been cleared      




Ashikaga Takauji (1305-1358)
Born in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture.
After writing this poem, he voyaged from Akashi port to Kyushu. Four month later, He came back to Kyoto to found the Ashikaga Shogunate.

Akashi : Hyogo Prefecture. Akashi means "clear".
